March 31 at age 45.
Born in Detroit, Mr.

Association Collection
Agencies and

He was a retired major in
the Michigan Air National
Guard and a navigator dur-
ing the Korean War with
the U.S. Air Force. He
taught Sunday school at
Temple Beth El and Temple
Israel. He also was a mem-
ber of the Probus Club. He
resided 1702 Brentwood,
Troy.
He leaves his wife, Kath-
ryn; two sons, Thomas and
James; a daughter, Eliza-
beth; his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Ben (Minnette) Sidlow;
two brothers, Hubert and
Allen of Missouri. Services
1:30 p.m. Friday at Ira
Kaufman Chapel.

Irving Manheimer,
Tools Distributor

Irving N. Manheimer,
president of TOol Sales Inc.,
distributors of abrasive
tools, died April 1 at age 66.
Born in New York City,
Mr. Manheimer lived in De-
troit 60 years. He was a
member of Craftsman
Lodge of the Masons and the
Moslem Shrine. He resided
at 16199 Oxley Rd., South-
field.
He leaves his wife, Mar-
i-on; a son, Ronald of San
Diego, Calif.; a daughter,
Mrs. Samuel (Arleen) Blu-
menstein; five brothers, Leo
Sol, Harry, David and Gus;
two sisters, Mrs. Henry
(Martha) Lewis and Mrs.
George (Sylvia) Lewis; six
grandchildren.

Victor Finn, 85,
Local Businessman

— Victor Finn, a furniture
manufacturer's representa-
tive for more than 55 years,
died March 31 at age 85.
Born in England, Mr.
Finn was a past president
and charter member of the
Furniture Club of Detroit
and a charter member of the
Home Furnishings Club of
Michigan.
He leaves a son, Gerald;
a daughter, Mrs. Ray-
mond (Bertha) Goldman; a
sister, Mrs. Louis (Ettie)
Robinson; and three grand-
children.

Israelis Urged
to Teach Overseas

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
Israeli teachers were urged
Monday to take assign-
ments in Jewish communi-
ties abroad.
Dr. Haim Hamiel, direc-
tor general of the World
Zionist Organization's reli-
gious education depart-
ment, said that without the
support of Israeli educators,
Jewish education in the
Diaspora could not survive.
He said that currently
about 270 Israeli teachers
serve 1,000 Jewish commu-
nities world-wide.

Violinist to Appear
'at Young Israel

Violinist Mischa Lefkow-
itz will entertain at a dinner
following services for Is-
rael's Day of Remembrance
and Independence Day 6:45
p.m. April 15 at Young Is-
rael Center of Oak-Woods.
Sponsored by the Metro-
politan Council of Young
Israel and the local Mizrachi
organization, the dinner is
open to the public: For res-

Ben-Gurion U. Has
Seminar on Energy

BEERSHEBA — Fifteen
of the world's leading scien-
tists in the field of magneto-
hydrodynamics were -in Is-
rael recently to attend an
international seminar at
Ben-Gurion University of
the Negev on "MHD-flows
and Turbulence." About 30
Israeli scientists also at-
tended.
The 45 scientists taking
part in the seminar on fuel
saving were from Canaci
England, France, Israel -an
the United_States. The semi-
nar is sponsored by the Bat-
Sheva de Rothschild Foun-
dation for the Advancement
of Science and Technology
in Israel.
Meanwhile, Israeli Minis-
ter Gideon Hausner partici-
pated in the opening session
of the fifth annual meeting
of the board of governors of
Ben-Gurion University of
the Negev.

The Jew is destined to
play the role of an interna-
tional link between the dif-
ferent countries of the
earth.
