MONDAY NIGHT SPRING SEMINAR 8:15-10:00 P.M.
HEALING AND COMFORT

On Medicine, Faith and Human Needs

Rabbi Jacob E. Segal is the moderator for this series of four
seminars. Serious illness befalls every family at one time or another,
and death awaits all of us. The science of medicine and the art of
religious faith are therapies we turn to in affliction or grief.
These four seminars, led by eminent physicians, will intimately explore
the personal impact of illness on the hopes and self-esteem of both
the patient and his or her family—and the role of the doctor in serving human as well as
scientific values. Rabbi Segal, moderator for the series, will also lead in the concluding
session on grief and solace. The presentations will be informal, with questions and open
discussion by all participants.
