Dear friend,

These are difficult times, times which challenge our responsibility to
help others. The economic problems facing our city and our country
make us increasingly aware of the personal deprivation and suffering of
others.

Our brothers who seek release from Russia become jobless once they
ask permission to emigrate to Israel. The poverty in the Jewish communities
of Morocco and Iran is indescribable. The aged, both here and in the Jewish
communities of the world, are particularly affected as they struggle to eke
out a dignified life from their meager incomes.

What can we do?

The Allied Jewish Campaign-Israel Emergency Fund can make a difference.
It will help provide thousands with decent housing, essential medical care,
food, and the educational programs which will add meaning to the lives of
their children. Your gift will help improve the quality of Jewish life.

The members of our community are demonstrating their maturity and
deep understanding. More than half of the 8,000 who have already pledged
to the 1975 Campaign have increased their gifts over their generous response
to 1974's Emergency.

We ask you to join those who care! Demonstrate your concern for those
who look to us for help.

Please make your best possible pledge to the 1975 Campaign.

Sincerely,

, N
