Foundation announces Dr.
Marvin A. Rich has been ap-
pointed director of research.
Rich will direct the entire
MCF research program, as-
suming administrative re-
sponsibility for the more
than 100 scientists and
technicians of the founda-
tion's research team.
Dr. Samuel B. Horowitz,
former chief of the MCF cell
biology laboratory, was
named chairman of the biol-
ogy department.

Ilya Solomon, age 2, the
son of Russian immigrant
parents, underwent the rite
of circumcision at Sinai
Hospital of Detroit last
week, with Rabbi Zachar-
iash of Cong. Shomrey
Emuna officiating, and Dr.
Howard Jacobs in attend-
ance. Ilya is the son of Solo-
mon and Maria Oslan, who
arrived in Detroit from Mos-
cow just four months ago.
