be honored - Monday by the
Oakland County chapter of
the National Association of
Social Workers as the out-
standing Oakland County
social worker, and volunteer
of the year.
Mrs. Dorothy Rood of
Huntington Woods, who
works- for the Birmingham
Public Schools, and Mrs.
Isadore - Winkelman of
Bloomfield Township will
be honored at a noon lunch-
eon at the Michigan Inn.
During her more than 30
years as a volunteer Mrs.
,Winkelman has helped im-
plement several programs to
aid people in the Detroit
area.
During her tenure as
president of the National
Council of JeWish Women
the organization started
the Meals on Wheels pro-
gram of delivering hot
meals twice per week to
senior citizens.
She also helped establish
operation Friendship in
Royal Oak and Pontiac, a
recreation and guidance
program for ex-mental, pa-
tients.
