city of Detroit for a few
days' visit from his medical
duties in Safed, Israel, Dr.
Louis Shifrin's major inter-

to the Detroit Israel Aliya
Center, in Southfield, to
give encouragement in the

"As in my own case, as an
Oleh, I labor in the deep con-

can be of great assistance to
Israel with their know-how
and we should have in-
creased Aliya," Dr. Shifrin
said.
Dr. Shifrin began his
brief American visit in San
Francisco, where he at-
tended the convention of
orthopedic surgeons. He
was met there by his uncle,
Dr. Peter Shifrin, promi-

returned with them to De-

returned to Israel on Sun-
day.

Dr. Shifrin deplored

bureaucracies and the
Levantine methods that
one must experience in
that part of the world.
