Arabs Get Communist Weapons
Since the Yom Kippur
War, the Arab states have
received $4 billion in weap-
ons from the Soviet Union
and other East European
Communist bloc countries.
Egypt, in particular, has
been a major recipient of
Soviet arms despite its
much advertised complaints
that the Soviets were reneg-
ing on their commitments.

needs — about the same as
last year. Oil production
from the Abu Rodeis wells
in the Sinai is valued at $275
million (45 percent).
However, the Sinai oil is

"JDC will continue to join
with the local associations
for the aged to help assure
that the old people of Israel
will be able to enjoy their
later years in serenity, com-
fort and dignity."
The home, which accom-
modates 120 residents, was
built by the Association for
the Aged of the Valley Re-
gions in cooperation with
the national Association for
the Planning and Develop-
ment of Services for the
Aged. The home has sepa-
rate units for the well aged,
the infirm, and for nursing
cases. Most of the 85 elderly
men and women already in
residence require some de-
gree of nursing care.
The home will also offer
day care facilities for about
40 elderly people who are
well enough to live in the
community. In addition, the
Association has acquired 20
apartments especially de-
signed for the elderly and
will make them available to
couples able to manage by
themselves. There will be a
"meals-on-wheels" program
for the homebound aged.
