Bar-Ilan's Inclusion in Arab
Boycott Amuses Stollman

Phillip Stollman was
amused when he learned
that Bar-Ilan University
was included in the Arab
blacklist of Jews, Jewish
institutions and business
houses.
As global chairman of the
Israel university he won-
dered whether it was a jest
or whether the clowns con-
ducting the Arab boycott
were inviting contributions
to the university in behalf of
its Arab students.
"The boycotters listed
Bar-Ilan University's old
Detroit office address on
Wyoming," Stollman said,
"but did not indicate that
200 of Bar-Ilan's students
are Arabs. Are Arabs boy-
cotting Arabs, or are they
clowning? But they are not
deterring Israel froni treat-
ing all its citizens, Jews,
Moslems and Christians
alike."
added:
Stollman
"Thousands of Arab stu-
dents are benefiting from
educational advantages
provided for them in Is-
rael's universities. Jews
do not boycott humans,

Dinitz Observes No Erosion
of U.S. Support for Israel

NEW YORK (JTA) — Is-
raeli Ambassador Simcha
Dinitz asserted there was no
erosion of support for Israel
in Congress but there was
an unwillingness to spend
money which will inevitably
affect Israel. Dinitz made
his remarks Feb. 27 to a
meeting here of the Confer-
ence of Presidents of Major
American Jewish Organiza-
tions.

Dinitz said he expected Is-
rael's economic and military
aid package, which is due to
come up in Congress during
the next 50 days, will be
approved. He said Congress
still strongly supports Israel
because the American peo
ple support Israel.

Dinitz denied that Secre-
tary of State Henry, A. Kis-
singer was withholding
sending arms or any other
aid to Israel pending an Is-
raeli-Egyptian second stage

Hospital Receives
$140,000 Grant

JERUSALEM — The
Shaare Zedek Hospital
School of Nursing here has
received grants totalling
$140,000 from the U.S.
based Helene Fuld Health

pie Fund.

Accepting the grant on
behalf of the hospital was
"Schwester" Selma Meyer,
92, who has worked at the
hospital's school of nursing
for more than 60 years.
The school will use the
funds to build two class-
rooms in the hospital's new
medical center, establish a
closed-circuit television in-
stallation in the school and
expand the library.
Miss Meyer was also re-
cently honored by the Knes-
set as one of Israel's 12
"Women of the Year."

agreement. But he said if
such an agreement was
reached, the atmosphere it
would create would result in
a more favorable response
to Israel's request.

Meanwhile, following
an hour-long meeting with
Secretary of State Henry
A. Kissinger Feb. 26, Jew-
ish leaders said they had
acquired a "better under-
standing" of the Adminis-
tration's Middle East pol-
icy and the relationship of
U.S.-sponsored bilateral
negotiations to a final
peace settlement.

Serving as a spokesman
for the group were Rabbi Is-
rael Miller, chairman of the
Conference of Presidents of
Major American Jewish
Organizations, and Max
Fisher, chairman of the
Board of Governors of the
Jewish Agency.

Kissinger gave the Jewish
leaders an overview of what
the U.S. seeks to accomplish
in the Middle East explain-
ing the step-by-step proce-
dure, and answered ques-
tions about American
guarantees of a Middle East
settlement and the Ameri-
can response to Arab boy-
cott pressures.
