Court-Turns Down
Sirhan's Appeal

LOS ANGELES — The
California Supreme Court
turned down Sirhan B: Sir-
han's latest appeal in which
he claimed that newly re-
vealed evidence shows he
didn't fire the murder
weapon.
His lawyer, Godfrey
Isaat, had argued that balis-
tics - evidence tending to
show that Senator Robert F.
Kennedy wasn't killed by
Sirhan's gun "was deliber-
ately_and knowingly sup-
pressed by the prosecution."

Faxon Appears
In Opera Role,_

State Senator Jack Faxon
of Detroit will play a lead-
ing role in the Michigan
Opera Theatre's production
of "Die Fledermaus," which
opens tonight at the Music
Hall.
Faxon, described as politi-
cian, schoolmaster, painter,
collector, auctioneer, and
now opera performer, will
play the flamboyant Prince
Orlofsky in the opera, a role
traditionally played by a
familiar figure.
Someone at the theater
mentioned that Faxon
would make a good Prince
Orlofsky, and he readily
agreed to play the part. His ..
preparation included taking
lessons from a vocal coach.
The performance can be
seen tonight, Sunday,
Wednesday, Feb. 28 and
March 1. For ticket infor-
mation, call the theater,
