the president of the Labor
Zionist Alliance, Dr. Judah
J. Shapiro.
In backing the general
board of the AFL-CIO, Dr.
Shapiro told his organiza-
tion's national executive com-
mittee meeting that "unless
America displays its readi-
ness to resist the pressures
of the oil producers, similar
pressures are bound to come
on other strategic supplies."
Dr. Shapiro told 100 LZA
leaders from the U.S. and
Canada, "In the present eco-
nomic difficulties, it would

be well to place the highest
priority on the well-being of
the majority of Americans,
rather than to assure pro-
tection of the large compa-
nies, whether in oil or other
industrial areas.
Shapiro added, "An impres-
sion has been created that

lates mainly to Jewish is-
sues such as Israel and So-
viet Jewry. The fact is that
the disagreements between
Washington and Moscow re-
late to issues in many parts

ARAB SMUGGLERS AT UN: Arab propagandists
are beginning to feel themselves more and more "at home"
in the headquarters of the United Nations. They are now
seen in greater numbers in the UN lobbies and their
propaganda apparatus is now more daringly operating in
the UN building.
Direct distribution in the UN building of any material
not emanating from the United Nations is not allowed. But
the Arabs now ignore this rule. Under the existing pro-
cedure, any material for dissemination to the press is
distributed only through the apparatus of the UN Press
and Information Department.
Ever since the leader of the Palestine terrorists: Yasir
Arafrat, was recognized by the UN a small group of propa-
gandists operated within the walls of the United Nations
with growing arrogance. This self-styled "delegation" is
not even a part of the United Nations. Nevertheless, it uses
the UN premises for distributing its hate propaganda.
Correspondents at the United Nations now find on their
desks inciting Arab material placed there by anonymous
persons. The material is obviously smuggled in during the
morning hours before the journalists are at their desks.

PROPAGANDISTS AT WORK: The latest piece of
vitriolic propaganda against American Jews and members
of the U.S. government circulated by Arab propagandists
is a 10-page "Appeal to the American People." Malicious
in its contents, the "appeal" indicates the nervousness of
the Arabs over the possibility of American retaliation
against the extortion by the Arab oil countries causing
inflation, unemployment and other economic dislocations
in the Western world.
The fire in this violent piece of propaganda is directed
primarily against Secretary of State Kissinger and "other
Zionist agents in the U.S. government." It seeks to implant
in American minds the thought that American Jews are
attempting "to railroad the United States into a war"
against the Arab oil-producing countries. Singled out for
severe attacks on the same charge 'are American news-
papers and radio and television stations.
The "appeal" does not deny that the Arab oil-producing
countries are now extorting billions of dollars from the
West. It warns, however, that should the United States
"either directly or through Israel" start any military action
against any of the oil-producing countries, the wells and
pipe-lines would be destroyed.

POISON A LA HITLER: It is not the place here to
go into all the anti-Jewish nonsense that the Arab "appeal"
contains. The important thing is the fact that the propa-
ganda machine of the Palestine Arabs is penetrating the
UN building in an underground-like manner and is at-
tempting to make the UN premises a main base to spread
its poisonous agitation against Jews, against the U.S. Con-
gress, and aginst, the Administration in Washington. The
inciting propaganda emulates the Hitler "big lie" line that
Jews "control" the United States.
The "appeal" will not impress intelligent Americans—
so far it has been ignored by the correspondents of the
United Nations—but the underground method of its distri-
bution in the building of the United Nations clearly indi-
cates the extent upon which Arab propagandists are em-
barking now that they have come into big money from
Arab oil rulers. The "appeal" is the most violent attack
on American Jews and on the American government ever
produced by the Arab propaganda machine in this country.
