TEL AVIV—From all indi-
cations, the Israel National
Table Tennis team will not
get to Calcutta despite all
efforts being made in its be-
half by the International
Table Tennis Federation and
political and diplomatic cir-
cles.
The local table tennis fed-
eration has been advised by
India that since there is no
tourism agreement between
the two countries, Israelis
cannot avail themselves of

What disturbs the Israel
Sports Federation more in
the fact that the international
volley ball championships
are slated for April for Tur-
key and from all indications
the Turks are not going to
invite the national volley 'ball
team from this country.
In their case, the Turks
will contend that the security
risk is too !hard to handle
and the cost of maintaining
security is exorbitant and
rather than get involved,
they would prefer that Israel
not participate.
The Iranian government
was exceptionally coopera-
tive and its security for the
Israeli teams participating in
the Asian Games in August
was very expensive, but ex-
cellent. Although Iran is a
Moslem country and has
strong ties with the Arab
League-, they did their utmost
to make the stay of the Is-
raeli athletes a pleasant one.
