pharmacist, and his wife
have been active in Beth Ye-
hudah Schools for many
years. They are also mem-
bers of Cong. Mishkan Israel
and Bnai Brith.
The dinner honoring Rabin-
owitz and his wife will also
include a musical program
arranged by the yeshiva choir
under the direction of Rabbi
Aaron Davidson.

Spiritual Leader of Bangkok
Jews Returns to Give Lectures

Bezalel Gordon, spiritual
lea-der of the Bangkok Jew-
ish community, Will return
to Detroit in April to lecture
on his year-long, round-the-
world trip.
Gordon, son of Rabbi
James I. Gordon of Young
Israel Center of Oak-Woods,
and Mrs. Gordon, became the
community's spiritual leader
upon the death of Air Force
Chaplain Rabbi David Sobel.
Gordon's journey included
visits to nearly every Jewish
community in South Ameri-
ca and Asia as well as some
of the lesser known Jewish
communities in Southern
Europe.
The Bangkok community
holds Sabbath 'Eve services,
has a weekly religious school
for childre n, discussion
groups, social gatherings for

Max M. Fisher and other
Detroit business leaders are
attempting to raise $6.1 mil-
lion for a Detroit science
center.
Fisher heads Detroit Ren-
aissance, which is a group of
businessmen concerned with
the revitalization of the city.
Fisher said, "We are endors-
ing the science center project
•as the major capital contri-
bution from Detroit business
and industry in celebration of
our nation's 200th birthday."
He said that by concentrat-
ing on this one project, the
group can make a greater
impact than by working on
several projects. The science
center. would be built south
of the Detroit Institute of
Arts, bounded by Warren,
Farnsworth, John R, and
Brush and would be complet-
ed in 1977 if the fund raising
is successful-
