Israel in activities relating to
the Jewish community.
Erry Loewenthal, outgoing
president, stated that one of
the priorities of the Council
this year should be the uni-

that membership in one
branch of Young Israel
should entitle the family to
all the services •and benefits
in any branch of the move-
ment.
Blitz indicated that he

one body. He announced the
appointment . of a committee
on unification consisting of
Messrs. Phillip Stollm an,

Young Israel Bet Shemesh
project, sponsored by the
Council, is involved in the
creation of a suburban vil-
lage in the foot of the Judean
hills outside Jerusalem to
contain 1,045 families.
A subsidiary organization,
the Young Israel Aliya Hous-
ing and Development Corp.,
has concluded financial ar-
rangements with the Israeli
government which would en-
able an oleh to purchase a
three-bedroom 'apartment for
a $15,000 cash outlay and a
mortgage carrying charge of
approximately $100 a Month.
There are currently 753
families from the United
States and Canada enrolled
in the project. Construction is
expected to begin in April.

Meir & Rivka Liskowski of Suwalki,
Poland and daughter Chaya died
during the holocaust. Also killed
were Schneier and Goldie Koniak
and their son, Tzalik. The martyred
brother of these 2 sisters, Israel
Strelecki, was a friend of an
Applebaum relative that settled
in Palestine long before World
War II.
Would any former Suwalki, Po-
land residents have extra photo-
graphs of these martyred families?
Relatives of the Liskowski family,
the Applebaums live in the Detroit
area.
