In addition to the president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and cor- respOnding secretary, each class elected a senior and junior representative. The candidates had a Week to campaign and colorful post- ers adorned the yeshiva's walls. In addition, there was a panel discussion between the two candidates for the presi- dency in which both candi- dates expressed their , views on various matters pertain- ing to the yeshiva. Then on Wednesday, right before the elections, all the candidates (including the two candidates for the presidency) were able to give campaign speeches. - The first Student Council meeting was held Thursday. The officers are Larry Brown, president; Shmuel Fordonski, vice president; Hirsh Gold, secretary; Fred Pfeffer treasurer; and Yis- roel Schwartz, corresponding secretary. The senior repre- sentatives include: Moshe Herschfus, 7th grade; Mickey Stollman, 8th grade; Baruch Kelman, 9th grade; and Yitzchak Freedman, . 11•h grade. The junior represen- tatives are Mark Benovic, 7th grade; Mendy Segal, 8th grade; Yossi Gardyn, 9th grade; and David Pesach Deal, 11th grade. The 10th grade did not choose a rep- resentatie. In an effort to further en- rich the third grade's knowl- edge of human anatomy and physiology, their teacher, Mrs. Darnell, showed them a movie on the human ear. We asked Mordechai Gold and Meir Kaufman what they thought of the movie. Mordechai said, "We all liked the movie and we also learned a lot." When we asked Meir what he thought, he proceeded to give a 10- minute speech on the human ear. The rest of the class also gained a lot from the movie. - Brag a Bit The Jewish News en- courages youth groups to publish articles con- cerning their activities.
