NEW YORK (JTA) Dr. Samuel Silverberg, founder and former president of the Jewish Daily Forward died Saturday at age 88. A founder and long-time activist in the Workmen's Circle, and national president of the Jewish Socialist Far- band at the time of his death, he was also former chairman of WEVD, the Yiddish radio station. Dr. Silverberg was for more than two decades the head of the Workmen's Circle di- vision of the Jewish Labor Committee.
