Jewish movement" at a dinner on behalf of the Reform
Jewish Appeal. The dinner raised $50,000 for the Union of
American Hebrew Congregations and the Hebrew Union
College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Shown are, from left:

Council, UAHC; Rabbi Alexander M. Schindler, president
of the UAHC; Bernard E. Linden, national UAHC board
member and dinner chairman; Mr. and Mrs. Canvasser; and

Federation of Reform Synagogues, sponsor of the dinner.

Human Rights "for uncom-
promising dedication and
firm commitment to the as-
pirations and goals of human
rights."
A similar award was pre-
sented last month to CRC
member Joyce Mittenthal
"for her contributions in the
field of law," in a program
at Wayne State University's
Community Arts Auditorium.
Another highlight of the
delegate assembly will be a
display of historical mater-
ials prepared by the Joint
Anniversary Cele br a tion
committee, commorating the
75th anniversary of Detroit's
United Jewish Charities and
the 50th anniversary of the
Jewish Welfare Federation
of Detroit.

Sheruth League
Plans Meeting

Sheruth League, affiliate of
the Fresh Air Society, will
hold a board and general
meeting 8 p.m. Tuesday at
the home of Mr. and Mrs.

Political Analyst A. Rosenbaum
to Address Community Council

Aaron David Rosenbaum,
chief political analyst for
Near East Report and direc-
tor of research for the Am-
erican Israel Public Affairs
Committee, will speak 8 p.m.
Thursday at Temple Emanu-
El at the Jewish Community
Council's delegate assembly.
Rosenbaum, son of Rabbi
and Mrs. Milton Rosenbaum
of the temple, will present an
analysis of present conditions
in the Middle East and in
Washington, as they affect
international relations among
Israel, the U.S., and the
Arab states.
Also featured at the assem-
bly will be the presentation
of human rights awards to
three members of the Coun-
cil's community relations
committee.
