to Play Indoor Miniature Golf

Bnai Moshe Senior United
Synagogue Youth will spon-
sor an indoor miniature golf
social 7 p.m. Saturday at the
synagogue. The group will
hold its annual Camp Tam-
arack weekend on Jan. 10-12
at the Ortonville campsite.

Senior and Kadima (grades
7-8) USY groups will attend
the annual Hasidic Happen,
ing concert Tuesday at Ford
Auditorium. Members will

games, stories and refresh-
ments.

named fundraising chairman
for Halutzim. Katie Lazarus
is 'head of the phone squad.
The annual Camp Tama-
rack weekend for grades 4-6
will be held Jan. 17-19 at the
Ortonville campsite. Week-
end activities will include
outdoor tobogganing and hik-
ing, an oneg Shabat and Sat-
urday morning services, with
a Saturday evening social.

Akiva
Action Line

9th Grade -
In honor of the festival of
Hanuka, the Akiva student
council prepared two Hanuka
parties for the school, one for
the kindergarten - 6th grades
and another for 7th - 12th
grades.
Each class contributed
their efforts in the form of
songs and plays to make it
one of the most successful
events of the year.
In between each act, mu-
sican entertainment was pro-
vided by Shira Shuchatow-
itz, Johnny Liebman and
Shonnie Shreiber.
The shiur gimmel girls
presenter awards to various
students and teachers. After
th program, the student
council with the help of the
PTA served hot chocolate
and doughnuts.
The. high school girls choir
went to Borman Hall to
bring some holiday cheer to
the residents.

NEW YORK—A total of 122
American Jewish university
students spent their winter
vacation learning about the
land and people of Israel as
participants in the largest
student study mission in the
United Jewish Appeal's his-
tory, UJA General Chairman
Frank R. Lautenberg an-
nounced.
The UJA-sponsored group
included a Black Jew from
Kent State University in
Ohio, the editor of the Har-
vard University Crimson,
and large delegations from
colleges from the Los An-
geles, Philadelphia and New
York City. Most participants
are leaders in UJA campus
campaigns.
"The annual Winter Stu-
dent Mission is one of the
most accurate measurements
we have of the UJA's effec-
tiveness in reaching univer-
sity students," Lautenberg
said.

Bowling Social Due

Junior Young Israel Teens
(grades 6-8) will hold a bowl-
ing social, with a trip for ice
cream on Sunday, meeting
1:30 p.m. at Young Israel of
Greenfield. Daniel Koenings-

gramming.
Halutzim (grades 3-5) will
have a Shabat luncheon fol-
lowing 9 a.m. services and
kidush Saturday at Young
Israel of Greenfield. Jenny

group will present the full-
length children's film 'The
Shaggy Dog' at 1:30 p.m.

The 10-day mission includ-
ed a meeting with Israeli
President Ephraim Katzir, a
Sabbath in Jerusalem, a visit
to the Golan Heights and
seminars with Jewish Agen-
cy officials who explained' the
critical role of UJA-support-
ed humanitarian services for
the people of Israel.
In addition to the annual
Winter Mission, the UJA
sponsors two other in-depth
tours of Israel for university
students. These are a six-
week Summer Mission to
Europe and Israel and Op-
eration Joshua, a series of
one-day summer tours in Is-
rael for students traveling
there independently.
