Lebanese Renews Pointiac Bank Bid

Ahmad C. Sarakbi, a Leb-
anese citizen with interests
in the oil business, has re-
newed his attempts to buy
Community National Bank of
Pontiac.
Last month Sarakbi offered
$21 a share to some stock-
olders of Community Na-
tional, the 15th largest bank
in the state. Sarakbi's re-
newed offer is being made
to all the bank's stockhold-
ers.

Sarakbi withdrew his ear-
lier offer because regulatory
authorities told him that he
was making a tender offer,
and had to file appropriate
forms, according to news
sources.
David Sime, an acquisition
consultant representing Sara-
kbi, said his client wanted to
buy a bank in the Detroit-
Pontiac area because of its
large number of citizens of
Lebanese extraction.
Sime said that Sarakbi's
goal is to get Community Na-
tional into the overseas bank-
ing business, with emphasis
on operations in the Middle
East.

According to the study,
about 15 per cent of the stu-

said they participated in

What fare shall I pay
For any ride today?
The driver tomorrow
Shall get a good price.
I'll bring him a cake
That soon I shall bake,
All showy and snowy
And covered with ice.
