Ross announced that the Passover festival would • be used as a focal point for the Reform Jewish effort, and membership pledge cards will be for- warded for distribution. NEW YORK—Nearly 3,000 New York metropolitan area yeshiva high school students mailed letters to Israeli school children living on set- tlements bordering Syria, Jordan and Lebanon offering support and faith in the _fu- ture of Israel. The letter-writing campaign was conceived by the National Commission on Torah Educa- tion, a service of the Com- munity Service Division of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. The Seminary is an affiliate of Yeshiva University. The letters are filled with pleas not to give up hope.
