precedented number of peo-
ple have inscribed Mrs.
Golda Meir, past prime min-
ister of Israel, in the Golden
Book of the Jewish National
Fund, in acknowledgment of
her many deeds for the state

Arafat Arranges Direct Pipeline of Soviet Weapons to Terrorists

TEL AVIV (JTA)—The re-
cent visit of Palestine Libera-
tion Organization Chief Yasir
Arafat to Moscow resulted in
the establishment of a direct
pipeline of Soviet weapons to
Palestinian terrorist's, it was
learned here. '
The weapons are said to in-
clude the latest automatic as-
sault rifles, mobile anti-air-
craft missiles• land launchers.
According to the sources,
El Fatah has already organ-
ized a system to transport
these weapons from the Sy-
rian port of Latakiah where
they are unloaded from Rus-
sian merchant ships to bases
in Syria and southern Leba-
non and from. Syria, via Jor-
dan, to terrorist cells in
Israel's administered terri-
tories.
'Previously, the terrorists
received their arms and am-
munition from the USSR or
the People's Republic of

China indirectly through the
Arab states.
According to reliable
sources, the Palestinian ter-
rorists are making a serious
effort to involve Jordan in
their activities. They are try-
ing to establish cells-in refu-
gee camps in Jordp to use
as bases for attacks on Israel
and again st the Hussein
regiine.
Lebanon, however, remains
the largest staging area for
terrorist assaults on Israel.

Syrian Jewish Affairs Advisor

TEL AVIV (JTA) — Alois
Btunner who was a deputy
of Adolf Eichmann and di-
rectly responsible for the de-
portation . of 56,000 Viennese
Jews to Nazi death camps,
is presently employed as an
adviser on Jewish affairs by
the Syrian Propaganda Min-
istry.
The information was sent
to the attorney general in
Ludwigsburg, West Germany,

Brunner's presence in Da-
mascus has been known for
some time. Efforts by the
Austrian authorities to have
him extradited were nhsuc-

Brunner turned up in Vienna
in March, 1938 at the time
of the Anschluss and soon
earned the name Monster of
Vienna.

nation of Jews in Slovakia
and in the deportation and
death of 100,000 French
Jews. His brother, Anton,
was hanged as a war crimi-
nal.

In Beersheba, police de-
tained 52 persons, most of
them. Arab bus' ,passengers,
after a time bomb was found
in an Egged bus that had just
arrived from Hebron. The
bomb was dismantled safely
one hour before it was set to
go off.

NEW YORK (JTA)—Four
Jewish editors are scheduled
to discuss the role of the
American-Jewish and 'Kiddish
press in reporting events and
developments, of vital con-
cern to both American Jewry
and Israel 10:3'0 a.m. Sunday
on the "Point of View" pro-
gram aired in New York.
The program is produced in
cooperation with t h e radio
and television commission of
the New York. Board of
Rabbis.
The participants in the dis-
cussion will be Murray Zuck-
off, editor of the Jewish Tele-
graphic Agency; Simon
Weber, editor in chief of the
Yiddish daily, The Forward;
Harry Weingast, editor of the
JeWIih. News of East Orange,
N.J.; and Frank F. Wundohl,
editor of the Jewish Exponent
published in Philadelphia.
Among the topics to be dis-
cissed will be: What are the
major issues which concern
Jewish newspapers? H o w
does the Jewish news media
differ with the daily press in
reporting events and activi-
ties? Do Jewish newspapers
follow 'a prearranged "line"
or policy? Is there any sub-
ject or area in Israeli life or
in the life of American. Jew-
ish communities that is con-
sidered taboo? Is the Jewish
