Pauline Rappoport's rug
hooking prowess has earned
her recognition all the way to
Oklahoma.
Mrs. Rappoport, sister of
artist and philanthropist, Max
Shaye, has been making
hooked rug tapestries for the
past six years as a hobby.
When they are completed,
she h a s them framed and
displays them: throughout her
home.
W. W. Wickland, an ac-
quaintance of her husband
and an oil- tycoon from
Oklahoma, saw her work and
asked if she would reproduce
a scene from a photograph in
a tapestry for him..
She created a 5 foot x 6
foot tapestry entitled "Okla-
homa Crude," and it so -de-
lighted the oil tycoon that he
not only treated the Rappo-
ports to a champagne dinner,
but is flying them to Tulsa to
witness the installation of the
work into his office.

both are capable of doing the
greatest mischief after the
cause which first set them in
motion has ceased to act.—
