The annual Beth Jacob
SchooI for Girls intennational
convention was longer than
planned last weekend be-
cause of the heavy snows
which hit Detroit.

taken in by local residents
after -the heavy snow snarled

The convention attracted-
more than 500 girls from
throughout the United States
and Canada for workshops
on Jewish Law, customs,

Kadima. (grades 7-8) will
host a city-wide Marx Broth-
ers Film Festival, featuring
"Horsefeathers" and "Duck
Soup" 8 p.m. Sunday, in
the synagogue social hall.
Youth groups from around
the Detroit area are invited
to attend. Refreshments will
be sold. For information, con-

Kadima members will hold
a Hanuka party with senior
citizens from the Federation
Aaartments, 2 p.m. Dec. 15,

will be games, latkes and
songs.
Senior United Synagogue
Youth will attend the Marx
Brothers Film Festival Satur-
day. The group will hold a
social action activity Sunday
afternOorf in the- synagogue.
Shabat services are held 70
a.m. Saturdays in the chapel.
Halutzim (grades 5-6) will
hold its Hanuka celebration,
with games, prizes and latkes,
4-6 p.m. Sunday in the youth,
lounge.
The Halutzim will hold a
movie and ice cream social
fundraiser 7:30 p.m. Dec.
14 in the social hall: The
-comedy movie 'Who's Mind-
ing the Mint' will be fea-
tured. Other youth groups are

Giborim (grades 3-4) will
celebrate Hanuka 1:45 p.m.
Sunday in the youth lounge.
Youngsters will have arts and
crafts activities1 games, lat-
kes` and prizes. For informa-

Junior Congregation will
hold a discussion on the little
known facts of Hanuka dur-
ing regular Shabat services
10 a.m. Saturday. Youngsters
age 9-13 are invited, to at-
tend, and may become mem-
bers after attending three
services.
Talit and Tefilin holds ser-
vices, breakfast and bowling
8:30 a.m. every Sunday. Any
youngster, - age 13 and older
joining the group for the first
