30—Friday, Dec. 6, 1974 THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS England Rabbi to Address SZ Rabbi Louis Jacobs of England will address Cong. Shaarey Zedek at the begin- ning session of its cultural commission's Great Weekend 8:30 p.m. today at the syna- gogue. Rabbi Jacobs, a renowned scholar in Kabala, Hasidism Jews, Christians to Share Church SYNAGOGUE SERV I CES St. Clare of Assis Episco- pal Church and Temple Beth Emeth decided to jointly own _a place of worship in Ann Arbor. "To my knowledge, there is no other arrangement like this in the world," said Stephen Young, president of the temple. The two congregations have worshiped under the same roof since July 17, 1970, when Temple Beth Emeth held its first Sabbath eve service in St. Clare's facilities. The temple has rented from St. Clare since that time. The agreement provides that an ark shall be con- structed within the sanctuary, and the iron cross in the sanctuary will be hinged so it can be swung out of view. A star of David compati: ble in size to an existing ex- terior cross will be placed on the outside of the build- ing. According to news sources, the bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan still must approve the arrange- ment, but his assent is con- sidered assured.
