Mitchell Sharp, president of the Privy Council of Can- ada and leader of the Cana- dian government in the House of Commons, was the principal speaker at the din- ner, chaired by Sen. Jacob K. Javits of New York. Some 800 persons in the grand ballroom also heard remarkS– by Sir Marcus Sieff of Londo n, chairman of Marks and Spencer Ltd. and a leader of British Jewry, and Dr. Nahum Goldminn, president of the World Jew- ish Congress.
