Young Israel Halutzim,
grades 3-5, will visit the 23rd
annual Jewish Book Fair at
the Jewish Center to see the
children's play "Mazel and
Shlimael," Sunday leaving 1
p.m. from Young- Israel of
Greenfield. Refreshments
will be served, and young-
sters will have the opportun-
ity to purchase books of Jew- ,
ish interest. For tickets, con-

Halutzim officers for the
coming year are: President,
Deena Schram; vice presi-
dent, Lillabeth Mandel;
secretary, Steve Katz; treas-

Honors Sonenklars

A group of friends with
whom he has been associated
.with at Conga' S'haarey Zedek
for many years honored Can-
tor Jacob H. Sonenklar on his
80th birthday with a trip to
Israel.
The presentation was Made
for both Cantor and Mrs. Son-
enklar at a special service in
his honor Saturday morning
by Mrs. Peter Martin, who
headed t h e arrangements
committee for the celebra-
tion.
Cantor Sonenklar, who con-
ducted the entire service, al=
so delivered a speech of ap-
preciation in response to en-
comia expressed by Rabbi
Irwin Groner, Robert A.
Steinberg, president of the
synagogue; Dr. Jerry Mar-
golis, president of the men's .
club; Mrs. Robert Brody,
president of the sisterhood;
and Cantor Jacob Barkin.
A familial note was ex-
pressed in a greeting by Neil
Sonenklar, grandson of the
honoree, who spoke in behalf
of Sonenklar's: 18 grandchil-
dren and a great grandchild.
Cantor Barkin brought greet-
ings from the Cantors As-
sembly of America.
