Eight members of the De-
troit Section of the National
Council of Jewish Women
were in Israel this past week
attending the organization's
second summit, conference.
Delegates were Jo Weiner,
-Bea Rowe, Dorothy Imer-
man, Barbara Bergman, Ed-
wina Davis, Lorelei Cohen,
Sarah Keidan and Maxine
Brewer.

Center Symphony
Plans Pop Concert

The J e w i.s h Community
Center Symphony Orchestra,-
under the direction of Julius
Chajes, will present` a special
"Pop Concert" 3:30 p.m.
Dec. 1 at the main Jewish
Center.
The program will feature
Annette' Chajes, mezzo-so-'
prano;„ Robert Angus, tenor;
and Fedora Horowitz, pianist,
in various show tune selec-
tions, including "Fiddler On
The Roof" and "Show Boat."
Gershwin's "Piano .Concerto
in. F' will also be performed.
Tickets are now on sale at

participated in the confer-
ence program highlighted by
an address by Prime Min-
ister -Yitzhak Rabin at a
banquet held in the Knesset.
Other key Speakers included
President - Ephraim Katzir,.
Minister of Defense Shimon
Peres; Minister of Education
Aharon Yadlin, and the noted
archeologist and professor,
Yig41 Yadin..
One of the major events of
the summit conference was
the formal dedication cere-
monies of three wings in the
newly-built school of -educa-
tion on the Mt. Scopus cam-
pus of the Hebrew University
of Jerusalem, which houses
the NCJW Research Institute
for Innovation in Educatioli.
The institute, established
by NCJW in 1968,--- is an
action-research center de-
signed to develop and evalu-
ate new educational methods,
materials and services for
the educationally disadvan-
taged in order to speed their
integration into Israel's mod-
ern society. •
