zations will be presented with
1974 William J. S h r o-d e
Awards, the highest service
honor bestowed by the Coun-
cil of Jewish Federations and
Welfare Funds upon Jewish
communal agencies, at . the
banquet highlighting its
43rd general assembly Satur-
day.
The • communities honored
include Cleveland iii the
large city category; Milwau-
kee among the intermediate
size cities; Madison, Wiscon-
sin, in the small city group,
and the American Jewish
Joint Distribution. Committee,
the National Jewish Welfare
Board and the Jewish Com-
munity Center of Greater
Minneapolis with a special
award for their combined
consultative services to the
Jewish community of Rome.
More, than 2,500 Jewish
communal leaders and fed-
eration executives are par-
ticipating in the five-day
general assembly, assessing
the critical social welfare
needs currently facing the
North American Jewish com-
munity at home, overseas
and in Israel.
