50th Academic Year d

JERUSALEM—The Hebrew
University's 50th academic
year opened in October with
an enrollment of 18,000, in-
cluding 5,000 new students.
A tree planting ceremony
was held in memory of the
university's teacher s, stu-
dents and employes who fell
in Israel's wars.
New courses in environs
mental studies and computer
sciences, expanded studies in
Egyptian history and litera-
ture, and increased guidance
for demobilized soldiers and
Russian immigrants are some
of the new features offered
this year.
