RAMAT-GAN — Criminal
convictions among traffic of-
fenders are higher than
among those who have not
committed traffic offenses,
it was found in a recent
study published in the latest
volume of "Crime- and Social
Deviances' issued by the De-
partment of Crimonology at
Bar-IIan University here.
In one of the studies, re-
searcher Yitzchak Stein .con-
tends that there is a definite
correlation between- traffic
delinquenty and criminal de,
linquency. A sample study
of several hundred drivers
indicated that while only 8
per cent of all drivers had
criminal convictions, 17 per
cent of the traffic offenders
among them had criminal
convictions and 60 per cent
of those with criminal con-
victions also had committed
traffic offenses.

In view of the above find-

ings, the- article suggests the
possibility of changing the
(Farrell's Shopping Plaza) Thurs., Fri.,
attitude and regulations to-
wards traffic offenders who
_10 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
are presently viewed as sep-
arate from criminal offend-
