ple Beth El. An original mus-
ical play entitled, "Rochel's
Raiders," written by Anita
Kippelman, Joyce Rosenthal
and Maxine Kronick will be
performed. Mrs. Rosenthal is
director. Goldie Talkow is
the musical director, and set
decorations were constructed
by Dawn Fleetwood and Ran-
dy Robeson. The cast in-
cludes Emily Bank, Sharon
Beck, Florence Berner, Sandi
Chimovitz, Pat Fauer, Alice
Katz, Mrs. Kippelman, Mrs.
Kronick, Mary Mitshkun, Di-
ane Rabin, Rita Sills and
Gloria Whitesnian. Proceeds
will benefit the Hadassah
Medical Center outside Je-
rusalem and will go for re-
building facilities on Mt.
Scopus.

Delegation to Hear
Sapir in Detroit

A delegation from Flint
will meet with Pinhas Sapir,
director of the Jewish Agen-
cy, for a private breakfast
Nov. 19 in Detroit. They will
discuss aliya and the prob-
lems of the Jewish Agency,
and ways in which the Flint
Jewish community can be of
assistance.

Flint to Joint Tay-Sachs Project

• The Flint Jewish commun-
ity has been invited to partic-
ipate in the Tay-Sachs screen-
ing to be held Nov. 24 at the
United Hebrew Schools main
building, 21554 W. 12 Mile,
Southfield, sponsored by the
Detroit Jewish community.
The fatal, neurological dis-
ease, common to Ashkenazi
Jews (Jews from Central and
Eastern Europe), a f f e cts
about one person in 25.
The screening consists of a
simple blood test which iden-
tifies carriers of the disease.

Flint Hadassah
to Have Guest

MRS. LOZABNICK

dassah, will hear Mrs. Oscar
Lozabnick 8 p.m. Wednesday
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Shaprow, 3418 Las\ Pal-
mas. She will speak to the
board of directors and all in-
terested members at a coffee
10 a.m. Thursday at the home
of Mrs. Henry Livingston,
G 3100 Miller.
Mrs. Lozabnick is a third-
generation life member of
the Beverly Hills Chapter of
Hadassah.
She began her association
with Hadassah as a 116ung
Judean. Mrs. Lozabnick
served- three years as presi-
dent of the Southern Pacific
Coast Region' of Hadassah
during which time 10 new
chapters were organized. She
has headed the Jewish Feder-
ation Council and Temple
Beth Am in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Lozabnick received
the award of honor from the
American Medical Center of
Denver in 1967 and the Myr-
tle Wreath Award from the
Beverly Hills Chapter of Ha-
dassah.
She has visited Israel many
times and attended the na-
tional Hadassah Mid-Winter
Conference in Israel in 1968
and was a delegate to the
World Zionist Congress in
Jerusalem in 1968. She is na-
tional b o a rd member of
American Zionist Federation
and member Of the board of
directors of the Jewish Fed-
eration Council.
She also is vice president of
the women's conference of
the Jewish Federation Coun-
cil in charge of public rela-
tions and is vice chairman
of the community relations
committee and chairman of
the Soviet Jewry commission.

Council Plans Trip
for Teens to NY

The youth activities com-
mittee of the Flint Jewish
Community Council will host
a trip to New York City un-
der the leadership of Maxine
Kronick, chairman, and Pin-
has Fellus, Dec. 11-15, for
9th-12th graders.
Included in the trip are a
visit to the Israeli Consulate,
lunch and tour of the UN by
a staff member of the con-
sulate; a visit to a hasidic
neighborhood i n Brooklyn
and the Lubavitcher Institute,
dinner and entertainment at
the Cafe Sabra — an Israeli
night spot; a tour of Jewish
Theological Seminary and an
opportunity to hear Golda
Meir address the United Jew-
ish Appeal. •

Near East Report, a weekly

icy in the Near East. He was

Leadership Cabinet, an-

Melet is a member of the

national UJA Young Leader-
ship Cabinet.
