WASHINGTON — A guide
dealing with the problems of
veneral diseases has been
published by Bnai Brith's
commission on community
and veterans services.
Entitled- "VD Doesn't Have
to Be ... If You Know What
It's About," it was developed
to alert the general public
and provide accurate infor-
mation on veneral diseases.
In addition to programs,
the guide provides phone
numbers, including a nation-
al toll-free number, where
callers can obtain additional,
specific information and re-
ferral service in their local
community.

Canadian, American Jewish Leaders
in Israel. for Weizmann Centenary
NEW YORK — A total of
100 American and Canadian
Jewish leaders are in Israel
to participate in the celebra-
tion of the 100th anniversary
of the birth of Dr. Chaim
Weizmann ; the scientis t-
statesman. and founding fa-
ther of the state of Israel,
who served as its first presi-
dent.
Participants in the pilgrim-
age, arranged by the Ameri-
can Cominittee for the Weiz-
mann Institute of Science
and the Canadian Society for
the Weizmann Institute, ac-
cepted an invitation from the
president of Israel, Dr. Eph-
raim • Katzir, former Prime
Minister Golda Meir, presi-
dent of World Centenary
Committee; and Meyer W.
Weitgal, the Weizmann Insti-
tute's Chancellor, who is the
general chairman of the cen-
tenary, to participate in a
nine-day series of events
which will inaugurate a year-
long observance of the birth
of Dr. Weizmann.
In -Israel, the American
participants will be 'joined
by leaders of European and
Latin Americari communities.
Headquarters of the Centen-
ary committee are—in Re-
hovot.
The celebration in Israel
will be officially inaugurated
Saturday with a public as-
sembly on the campus of the
Weizmann Institute of Sci-
ence with the president of
Israel and Mrs. Meir in at-
tendance. Israel Prime Min-
ister Yitzhak Rabin will ad-
dress the assembly.
President Katzir will be the
host at a dinner Sunday at
the Knesset. Jerusalem May-
or Teddy Kollek will be host
to the s pilgrimage guests at a
luncheon, also on Sunday fol-
lowing a morning tour of
Jerusalem.
On Monday there will be a
special session of the Knesset
devoted to Dr. Weizmann,
followed by a centenary con-
cert in Tel Aviv of the Israel
Philharmonic, with Leonard
Bernstein conducting.
A"- feature - of the nine-day
program will be the formal
dedication of the Perlman In.
stitute of Chemical Sciences
at the Weizmann Institute of
Science, made possible by
the $1,500,000 gift of Chicago
lawyer and philanthropist,
Harold L. Perlman. The ded-
ication ceremonies will be
followed by - the investiture of
Honorary Fellows.

Some 400 notables in sci-
ence, education, the arts, bus-
iness, and public affairs,
among theth 63 -Nobel Laur-
eates, and 26 heads of col-
leges and universities, have
joined an international spon-
soring 'committee for the
Chaim Weizmann Centenary.
Fifteen countries are repre-
sented among the sponsors:
the U. S., Austria, Belgium,
Canada, England, Finland,
France, Italy, Germany, Ne-
therlands, Norway, Scotland,
Swede n, Switzerland and
Wales.
