Inter-Faith Women's Institute Set

LOS ANGELES—A nation-
wide series of self-awareness
seminars for women will be-
gin this month under the aus-.
pices of three national Cath-
olic, Protestant, and Jewish
organizations in the U.S.
The cooperating organiza-
tions are Church Women
United, a coordinating group
of Protestant and Eastern
Orthodox women, the Na--
tonal Coalition of American
Nuns, and the American Jew-
ish Committee.
Ann Wolfe, program ad-
viser to AJCommittee's na-
tional committee on the role
of women, explained the ra-
tionale for the project and
the way it will work.
"Religious groups have
been outspokeR in criticizing
some aspects of women's lib-,
eration," she said, "but no
systematic interreligious pro-
gram exists wheireby Jewish,
Protestant, and Catholic
women can affirm what they
actually stand for in terms
of their religious ,convictions
as well as their roles in the

held Nov. 20-21 in Cleveland
and will be followed by work-
shops in Pittsburgh, Milwau-
kee and other cities. Titled,
"Institute of Women Today,"
the program will consist of
lectures and discussions with
a faculty composed of leading
women theologians, lawyers
and psychologists. - In each
city, efforts will be made to
reach women of all religious
groups, including members
of organizations other than
the three co-sponsors.

a special ORT Sabbath ob-
servance 8:30 p.m. Nov. 15
at the temple. Rabbi Ernst
Conrad will officiate.
The service, as well as
other ORT services through-
out the country, will honor
the- work of ORT since its
beginning in 1880. The ORT
Sabbath is sponsored by the
115,000-member Women's
American ORT organization.
ORT has more than 700
vocational installations in 22
countries which help to .com-
bat poverty, unemployment,
the alienation of youth and
anti-Semitism, according to
Mrs. Sidney I. Feldman,
president of Michigan Re-
