Grant, owner of Grant Money Meters and philan- thropist, died Friday at age 85. Mr. Grant invented the_fare collection meter used by many transit companies. He began his career writing ad- vertising jingles for his mo- ther's millinery store at age 10. Joseph J. Blumrosen, founder and former owner of Economy Shop in Lincoln Park, died Oct. 11 at age 80. Born in Manistique, -Mr. Blumrosen lived 50 years in the Detroit area. He was the founder of the Ex- change Club of Lincoln Park and a past 'president. He was twice honored by the Exchange Club in 1953 and 1965 with a "Joe Blum- rosen Day." He also was a founder of the Business Men's Association which became the Chamber of Commerce. He also was the first presi- dent of the Lincoln Park Li- brary Association. - He was well-known in the area because of his knowl- edge of roses and worked with many of the local or- ganizations in planting of roses and the raising and breeding of roses.
