Charlotte Jacobson to Speak at
Bond Event Citing Mrs. Newman

The Metropolitan Detroit
Chapter of Hadassah "Worn-
an of the Year" Israel Bond
Luncheon honoring Mrs. Al-
bert Newman, will be held
noon Tuesday at Cong.
Shaarey Zedek and will fea-
ture Charlotte Jacobson as
guest speaker.

Mrs. 'Jacobson, chairman
of the American Section of
the Jewish Agency for Israel,
has been 'a member of Ha-
dassah for the past 25 years.
She was national president
from 1964 to 1968 and for
many years held member-
ship in the Hadassah delega-
tion to the Zionist General
Council. In 1968 she was
elected to the executive of
the Jewish Agency.

, Mrs.. Jacobson's first visit
to Israel was in 1951; and
she has frequently returned
on behalf of Hadassah and
other Zionist missions. Prior
to and following the Six-Day
War, she was instrumental in
helping to meet the medical
needs of the Israel people.
She has visited Morocco,
Poland , Czechoslovakia,
Marseilles, Rome, Hungry
and Vienna, in order to study
immigration problems. In
1966 she led a special Hadas-
sah mission to the Soviet
Union to evaluate the condi-
tions of Soviet Jews. She has
also been to several countries
in Latin America and has
visited the Jewish commun-
ity in Iran.

Three to Board

have been elected to Sinai,
Hospital of Detroit's board of
directors, it was announced
by Dr. Julien Priver, execu-
tive vice president of Sinai.
Citrin was a trustee and
officer of the Jewish Center,
a member of the executive
and personnel committees of
the Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion, vice president of the
Federation, member of the
capital needs committee and
board member of the United
Jewish Charities.
Mondry is associate chair-
man of the Allied Jewish
Campaign-Israel Emergency
Fund. He was a vice, chair-
man of the AJC-IEF in 1972
and 1973, and was director of
the Federation and of the De-
troit Service Group.
