He has been the rabbi of Young Israel of Oak-Woods since 1963. Rabbi Gordon came to Young Israel of Oak- Woods after serving congre- gations in Portland, Oregon and Elmira, N.Y. He is a former national vice president of the Rabbin- ical Council of America, for- mer national president of the American Correctional Chap- lain's Association and former member of the Rabbinic ad- visory board to the United Jewish Appeal.
