JERUSALEM — Shaare
Zedek Hospital her e has
opened an innovative "Day
Hospital."
Within this facility, patients
who do not require complete
and overnight hospitalization
are able to have medical
treatment, diagnostic tests
and therapy. The patients are
"admitted" in the morning
and "discharged" in the late
afternoon.
During their abbreviated
hospital stay of several hours,
the patients are administered
to by a professional staff of
doctors, . nurses,.. therapists
and social workers.
Located in rented quarters
in a building opposite the
main hospital in the center of
Jerusalem, the Day Hospital

"constructive recommenda-
tions" made by. Blumberg
and Herman Edelsberg, dir-
ector of the Bnai Brith In-
ternational Council, when
they visited Warsaw this
summer, prompted the gov-
ernment's action.
Blumberg described the
synagogue as in general dis-
repair and decay, with wood-
en planks covering broken
windows. "We found it in
sharp contrast with the new
Communist-sponsored Jewish
cultural center located back-
to-back with the synagogue,"
he said.
The cemetery issue has
been of concern to the rem-

Jewish religious leaders.
