After being inundated with message movies and other garbage productions, " 'Rabbi' Jacob" is a breath of fresh air to the movie- going audience. The movie, a French pro- duction with subtitles, star- ring Louis de Funes, really centers around de Funes, an anti-Semitic, anti-black and anti - anything - that - isn't - French-and-Catholic factory owner who gets involved with anti-revolutionary terrorist/ Mafia types. He is taken hos- tage by Sliman0, a revolu- tionary — who the terrorist/ Mafia types are pursuing. Slimane later becomes presi- dent of the country whose regime he tried to overthrow. De Funes, who plays Mon- sieur Pivert which means woodpecker as his facial con. tortions describe — and Sli- mane, escaping from the Arab/Mafia types — need a disguise.
