The 10 Mile Branch Senior
Adult tCouncil of the Jewish

Three time brass band
world champions, the NA-
TIONAL BAND OF NEW
ZEALAND brings their brass
symphony sound to Masonic
Auditorium, Oct. 4. Accom-
panying the band are the
spirited Maori Dancers who
sing and dance native Poly-
nesian rhythms from Aeoteo-
roa, the Land of the Long
White Cloud. During their
third visit to North America,
the band will be featured
with the Royal Canadian
Mounties at the Canadian Na-
tional Exhibition in Toronto,
and they will appear at the
Los Angeles County Fair,
New York's Madison Square
Garden. and Washington's
Kennedy Center. Under the
direction of Mervyn J.
Waters, the 60-man band was
selected from town bands
throughout New Zealand.

day at the International- In-
stitute, 111 E. Kirby. The
arts and crafts, the tastes
and music of nearly 36 na-
tions will be featured. Temple
Beth El Sisterhood will have
a food booth at the market
Thursday and Oct. 6. Pro-
ceeds will supplement the
funds received by the insti-
tute as a Torch Drive agency.

through Oct. 5 and noon-9

Honey Cake

Looking for something
tempting to offer to your
guests during the Sukkot holi-
day? I'd suggest this tradi-
tional honey cake, which fits
into this season when we are,
hoping for a sweet New
Year.

3 extra large eggs, separated
3 1/2 cups flour
2 tsps. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
tsp salt
1 1/4 tsps. cinnamon
2 tsps. cocoa
I/2 cup oil
1IA cups honey
1 cup cold coffee
I/4 cup sugar
Beat egg whites; set aside.
Beat egg yolks. Add all ingre-
dients to the yolks. Mix well.
Fold in whites. Bake in a tube
pan at 350 degrees for 50-55
minutes.

that a scientist. at the City
of Hope National Medical
Center has been appointed
to a research fellowship in
'his name. Proceeds of a re-
cent fashion industry testi-
monial event in New York
City honoring Roberts estab-
lished the fellowship to help
support the work of Susumo
Ohno, PhD, Sc., internation-
ally known for his research
in genetics and heredity at
the free, nonsectarian medi-
cal and research center near
Los Angeles.

Last week's issue of The
Jewish News erroneously
stated that Meyer Bass, key-
note speaker for, the Labor
Zionist Alliance's weekend
seminar, is a member of the
central committee of the
Labor Zionist Organization of
America. He was a member
of the former LZOA which
merged with the Farband to
become the Labor Zionist Al-
liance. The Jewish News re-
