Kahane to Focus on Kissinger While in U.S.

NEW YORK (JTA)--Rabbi
Meir Kahane arrived here
from Israel Aug. 14 and
said he was going to organize
demonstrations against Sec-
> retary of State Henry A. Kis-
singer.
\- The former leader of the
Jewish Defense League was
greeted by about 100 sup-
porters at Kennedy Airport.
He said the demonstrations
would take place outside Kis-
singer's home and office in
Washington during the next
few weeks.
"It's about time the myth
of Henry Kissinger as a

He alleged that Kissinger's
policy of detente with the
Soviet Union weakened the
US. and "caused the sacri-

Curtain." He said the Kis-
singer policies were "danger-
ous not only to Israel but to
this country as well."
Kahane, who _ must return
to Israel to face trial Nov. 17
on arms smuggling charges,
said he expected to be arrest-

ed during his stay in the U.S.
"as there are more and more
effective demonstrations
against Kissinger."
Kahane, who failed to win
a single Knesset seat for his
JDL ticket in the Israeli
elections last year, claimed
that his mission to the :U.S.
had "the support of vast
numbers of Israelis."
