Mr. and Mrs. Abraham
Shayne of Coolidge Ave., Oak
Park will he 'honored at a
luncheon Saturday on the oc-
casion of their 50th wedding
anniversary.
The Shaynes will leave on
a trip to Israel in October
during which they will be re-
united with relatives whom
they have not seen since corn-
ing to America more than
50 years ago.
Mr. Shayne operated the
Main Poultry Co. from 1930-
1960 until retirement.
He,is a member of the Oak
Park Masonic Lodge 591.
Mrs. Shayne is past presi-
dent of the Rochel Laya
Stepiner Aid Society, begun
in 1927 by Rabbi Bar u c h
Twersky, the Stepiner rabbi.
The Shaynes are memers of
Cong. Bnai David and nista-
drut.
They --have two children,
Sidney and Mrs. Dolores Fox
of Oak Park; and five grand-
children.

to enjoy cool fruit dishes. A
quick, refreshing appetizer
like this one should hit the
spot in these "dog days."

FRUIT CUP,
1 303 can graferuit sections

1 11-oz. can mandarin orange

sections

small bottle maraschino 'cher-
ries (drained)
1/2 cup grated coconut
1 /2 cup chopped •pecans
Mix everything except pecans.
Chill. Add pecans before serving.

1 /2 can tomato soup
1 /2 cup salad oil
1 /2 cup vinegar
1 /2 tsp. salt
1 /2 tsp. parsley flakes
1/2 tsp. powdered mustard
1 /4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 tblsps. onion flakes
1 /2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Put all of the above ingredients
in a quart jar and shake. Keep
refrigerated (Remember that if
you use cream of tomato soup,
your dressing will not be pareve.)
