Emily Leah Operman and
James Harold Wolman were
married in a recent cere-
mony at Cong Beth Abraham-
Hillel. Rabbi Israel Halpern
officiated.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Max Oper-
man of Szn Rosa Blvd.,
Southfield. Parents of the
bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs.
Leon Wolman of Park Ridge
Rd., Novi.
The bride wore a silk or-
ganza gown highlighted with
Venice lace and satin. She
carried a long bouquet of
baby roses.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
Ruth Talmer, sister of the
bride. Rosalyn Operman was
was her sister's maid of
honor, and Lynn Wolman of
Quebec was bridesmaid.
Larry Wollman was best
man. Ushers were Sam Tal-
mer and Chuck Gilmore.
Following a Toronto honey-
moon, the couple will live in
Southfield.

Joy Robin Epstein became
the bride of Allen Stanley
Gonte in a recent ceremony
at Cong. Bnai David. Rabbi
Solomon Poupko officiated.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Ep-
stein of Marshall Ave., South-
field. Parents of the bride-
groom are Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel Gonte also of Mar-
shall Ave.
Miss Epstein wore a white
organza gown with leg o'mut-
ton sleeves, trimmed with
lace and baby pearls. She
had a cascade of small lace
petals on her head piece.
Maid of honor was Pam-
ela Gonte, sister of the bride-
groom and the bridesmaid
was Lisa Levy. Jo Epstein
was her sister's flower girl.
Ushers were Bruce and
Mitchell Epstein, brothers of
the bride; and Carl Gonte,
brother of the bridegroom.
Matther Gross of Denver was
ring bearer.
Following a honeymoon in
Florida, the couple will live
in Madison Heights.

Marvin H. Goldman Chairs Sta Day

Marvin H. Goldman is the
chairman for the 25th annual
Detroit Service Group Stag
Day, DSG president Arthur
Howard announced.
Goldman, vice president of
Grant-Southern and Metal
Company, will organize the
silver- anniversary playday
for DSG members to be held
Wednesday, Sept. 11, at
Franklin Hills Country Club.
DS_ G members are men
who were workers in the 1974
Allied Jewish Campaign-Is-
rael Emergency Fund.
Goldman was chairman of
the industrial and automotive
division in the 1974 AJC-IEF.
He has held various other po-
sitions of leadership within
the division in prior cam-
paigns.
He also serves on the
board of directors for the
Jewish Home for the Aged.

MISS MARSHA OZROVITZ

Former Detroiter Dr. Ro-
bert Rockaway, presently
teaching in the department
of Jewish history at Tel Aviv
University, has been promot-
ed from lecturer to the rank
of senior lecturer in Ameri-
can Jewish history.
Dr. Rockaway has been in-
vited by the American Jewish
Historical Society to be a par-
ticipant in its conference on
"New Approaches to Ameri-
can Jewish Local History' in
Columbus, 0., in October.
An article by Rockaway,
"Anti-Semitism in an Ameri-
can City: Detroit, 1850-1914,"
is scheduled to appear short-
ly in the American Jewish
Historical Quarterly.
