Two of them were captured by the Syrians in the open- ing stages of the Yom Kip- pur War and the other four were Druze women who were married to four of the Druze who were released a few months ago from jail. The 20 Druze were detain- ed by the Syrians in 1951 in the Druze villages on the Golan Heights and were charged with espionage for Israel. They were sentenced to death but the sentence was then commuted to life im- prisonment. They spent 23 years in various Syrian jails, most of the time in the no- torious Palmira Jail in the Syrian desert. They were re- leased from jail , five months ago and the Red Cross was requested to intervene and secure their return to the vil- lages which have been in Is- raeli hands since the Six-Day War. TEL AVIV (JTA) — Israel foreign Minister Yigal Allon returned from the U.S. Tues- day and said no decision has yet been made on the next step in the Middle East nego- tiations. Allon, who will re- port to the cabinet at a spe- cial meeting this week, told reporters at Ben-Gurion Air- port that his • talks with American officials were mainly consultations and clarifications of attitudes and problems aimed at prevent- ing a new war. The next step will come after other Israeli and Arab officials held talks in Wash- ington this month, Allon noted. He said he was satis- fied with his visit and that relations between Israel and the U.S. are as good as ever and that there is even some positive progress in some areas. Allon said he had discussed the problem of Soviet and Syrian Jews with members FALSE IMAGE Appearances are deceptive of . the . administration and — especially the kind every- Congress during his visit to Washington as well as with body's neighbor tries . to keep Jewish leaders in New York up with. with whom he met Monday. (Res.) Amos Horev, Technion president. Known as the Rose and Herman Fenichel Section for Human Psycho-Biology, the facility on the Technion City campus is already alive with activity, with researchers probing "the relation between the structure of the human brain and the ability of man to memorize, recognize and perceive", explained Prof. Amiram Carmon, director of the section. The laboratory is already equipped with sophisticated computers, diagnostic equip- ment and electronic measur- ing and recording devices, reflecting the new look of medicine at Technion. He said he hoped this understanding would lead to material results. Meanwhile, an arms pur- chase mission of key officers of Israel's defense force left Tuesday for Washington to The Rabins in Home of the Ebans JERUSALEM, (JTA) — The Rabins are replacing the Ebans. The new Premier Yitzhak Rabin has decided he will not live in the house on Ben Mei- mon Boulevard where David Ben Gurion, Levi Eshkol and Golda Meir resided, but rather at the house that used to be the residency of the foreign minister. The house became vacant when Foreign Minister Yigal Allon decided to remain in his apartment in the Jewish quarter of the Old City. Former Foreign Minister Abba Eban has almost com- pleted evacuating the house at Balfour and Smolenskin, and he has already spent one night at the King David Hotel because most of the Ebans' personal belongings have already been moved out. The Rabins will move in after the necessary chan- ges and renovations take place. Alleged Crime Figure Slain in Synagogue seek specific agreements on new weapons agreed to in general terms by President Nixon during his June visit to Israel. The mission is headed by Gen. Herzl Shaftir, head of the army's general headquarters. Israeli officials have been seeking for several months agreements to provide for long range supplies of new weapons in place of the cur- rent practice of annual re- negotiations for arms. Presi- dent Nixon agreed to the idea in principle, leaving details to be worked out in Washing- ton. Observers here said Is- rael wanted new warplanes, tanks and other heavy equip- ment, as well as anti-aircraft missiles and anti-tank wea- pons. The delegation includes Gen. Mordehai Hod, a former air force commander, who is now senior adviser to De- fense Minister Shimon Peres. The new military attache in Washington, Avraham Adan, will join in the talks. Allon's Views on TV NEW YORK (JTA) — Re- plying to questions addressed to him on the NBC-TV "To- day" program, Monday, Is- rael Foreign Minister Yigal Allon said: "!The Soviets were increas- ing their arms supplies, es- pecially to Iraq and Syria, partly as means "to maintain and increase their influence in the Middle East," a new Middle East war in the fore- seeable future is "possible" but "not inevitable," the problem of a Palestinian identity should be solved through negotiations with Jordan. He said he still supports the "Allon Plan" for solving the problem of the West Bank. "I thought that this is a plan that suggested a fair compromise which will an- swer basic needs of the Arab population . . . and provide Israel with defensible bor- ders . . . and this is the secret of the plan . . . maybe in due course this will be found as a possible compro- mise between us and our neighbors." But he stressed thi,s was his view and not that of the Israel govern- ment. NEW YORK — A reputed member of the Gallo crime "family" was slain Sunday while he and his wife attend- ed a crowded "Las Vegas Night" benefit at Cong. Bnai Israel synagogue in Brook- lyn. Police said the victim, Stephen Cirillo, 31, was shot once in the back of the head at close range by someone who walked up to him as he _ played at the dice table. According t o witnesses, about 75 persons were in the synagogue's recreation base- ment when at about 2 a.m. several shots "sounding like New Israeli Attache firecrackers" were heard and Cirillo fell to the floor. to DC Is Appointed TEL AVIV (JTA) — Gen.
