That's Rabbi Yitzchok Lipszyc atop the "tank", direct- ing operations for the Lubavitcher Mitzva Campaign. Sim- ilar mobile units will be parked at various sites through- out the city and suburbs to call attention to the Lubavitcher Rebbe's call for "spiritual armament." His five-point cam- paign, "aimed at the strengthening and deepening of the involvement of the Jewish people with their fundamental faith and practice," includes the daily laying of terillin and Torah study, placement of a charity box and Jewish books of learning in every home and the mounting of proper mezuzot on the doorposts of every Jewish house. The Lubavitcher Rebbe suggested a parallel between the mitzvot and the tanks used by Israeli forces during the Yom Kippur War: "When we approach a fellow Jew to do a mitzva, there may seem to be a massive hill or a gap between them, but with the proper determination and weapons, one can overcome these seeming obstacles." For information on the mitzva campaign, call the Lubavitch office, 548-2666 or 398-2611. Windsor Beth El Picks President Richard Rosenthal has been elected president of Cong.
