It's No Act—Rube and Liz Weiss
Celebrate 25 Years of Marriage
Twenty-five years ago, at
the Workmen's Circle Cen-
ter, Rubin Weiss took a bride
— a girl he had met while
both were working in local
acting groups.
On June 29, Rube and Liz
Weiss will celebrate their
silver wedding anniversary
at a party given by their
children in their Oak Park
home.

1947 to 49, the Weisses have
appeared in a number of
Center Theater productions.
Last year, they played the
parents of the reluctant bride
in "Plaza Suite" at the
Center.
It is Weiss' voice that is
best remembered — both on
network shows originating
from Detroit ("Challenge of
the Yukon," "Green Hornet,"
"The Lone Ranger") — and
on television commercials.
But both are heard regularly
on the airwaves and in in-
dustrial films.
They are active members
of the performers unions,
Weiss serving as president of
Detroit Local Screen Actors
Guild and national board
member of SAG, as well as
national vice president of the
American Federation of TV
and Radio Artists. Mrs.
Weiss is secretary of the
SAG local, first vice presi-
dent of AFTRA and editor of
the Detroit AFTRA news-
paper.
Weiss has frequently par-
ticipated in Jewish Commu-
nity Council television pro-
grams. Mrs. Weiss is a
member of Bnai Brith Tikva
Chapter, Sinai Hospital Wo-
men's Guild and the Detroit
Committee for Soviet Jewry.
All of their five children
have performed in com-
mercials since they were
toddlers.
