Men who claim they never
mode a mistake in their lives
generally have wives who
did.

NEW YORK — For the
first time, a delegation from
the American Sephardi Fed-
eration — the organization
of Sephardic Jewry in the
U. S. — participated in the
recent World Sephardi Fed-
eration meeting in Geneva,
where plans for activating
world Sephardic Jewry to
help Israel and Jews in Arab
lands were adopted.
It was announced that a
$100,000,000 fund to help Is-
rael's Oriental Jewish fami-
lies solve their housing, edu-
cation and welfare problems
and to train social workers
will be set up by the govern-
ment, the Jewish Agency and
the World Sephardi Federa-
tion.
Federation President Nis-
sim Gaon suggested that the
WSF raise $1,500,000 from
the world's Sephardi commu-
nities to help needy Sephardi
families abroad, strengthen
educational and spiritual re-
sources in the Sephardi Dia-
spora, and help endangered
Sephardi communities to
come to Israel__
The presidium called upon
the U. S. and the civilized
world as a whole to bring
pressure upon Arab nations,
particularly Syria and Iraq,
to end the inhumane perse-
cution of their Jewish popula-
tions and to allow them to
leave freely.

While the American secretary of state was shuttl-
ing between Jerusalem and Damascus, Mrs. Henry A.
Kissinger remained in Jerusalem. After a visit to the
Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center she said:
"This is a great medical center, even compared to Amer-
ican standards?' Mrs. Kissinger visited the Chagall win-
dows in the synagogue and the pediatrics department,
where she saw Jewish and Arab children being treated
side-by-side, with their parents chatting amiably to each
other.

fund for retraining immi-,
grants, it was announced by
Shlomo Rosen, minister of
absorption. He pointed out
that the ministry plans to
buy apartments in the open
market to supplement accom-
modation for new immigrants

housing.
