Bertha Robinson, 77, Principal
of Central, Ford High Schools

Bertha Robinson, whose
principalship of Central and
Ford high schools is remem-
bered by thousands of stu-
dents, died June 7 at age 77.
Miss Robinson served as
principal of Central from
1952 to '59 and of Ford from
1959 to '66. She wrote many
publications and did many
studies still in use today.

a juris doctor degree and
LLB from the Detroit College
of Law and was listed in the
`Who's Who of Women in

Nursing, Jewish Family and

Jewish Center.
A native Detroiter, Miss
Robinson was a graduate of
Detroit Teachers College and
held bachelors and masters
degrees from the University
of Michigan. She was a junior
high school counselor before
becoming assistant principal
at Durfee Junior High in
1945. She went to Central, as
assistant principal, in 1950,
and remained there until her
transfer to Henry Ford.
She served on many educa-
tion committees and traveled
throughout the world.
Survivors are three sisters,
Mrs. Sarah Fagan, Mrs.
David (Esther) Racoosin of
Newton Highlands, Mass.,
and Elsie.

Commission Leader

LOS ANGELES—Jacob J.
Lieberman, first vice presi-
dent of the supreme advisory
council of Aleph Zadik Aleph,
1927-1944, and a past chair-
man of the Bnai Brith Youth
Commission, died June 6 at
age 86.
Mr. Lieberman, an attor-
ney, civic leader and news
commentator, was past pres-
ident of the West Coast Dis-
trict of Bnai Brith, and for
eight years served as chair-
man of the Youth Commis-
sion.
Mr. Lieberman was a for-
mer trustee of the Denver
Bar Association and a coun-
sel for the U.S. government.
He was past president of the
Los Angeles Association for
Jewish Education.
