Lunch to Cite Hadassah Donors

The Metropolitan Detroit
Chapter of Hadassah is in-
viting all contributors to a
"Lovely Afternoon in' Your
Honor" noon May 23 at Adat
Shalom Synagogue;
Eligibility to attend the
luncheon requires a cash
contribution of at least $100,
or a combination of $25 cash
and volunteer earned hours
amounting to at least $100,
according to Mrs. Charles
Snider, chairman of the day.
Invitations will be mailed to
members who qualify.
Representing the many
volunteers who have given
service to Hadassah, Mrs.
Adolph Raphael will be
specially recognized for her
service to the Hadassah
Thrift Shop in Ferndale.
For the Netherlands ongo-
ing support to Israel, a spe-
cial award will be given to
Paul Van Den Muysenberg of
the Netherlands consulate in
Detroit, by Mrs. Jerome
Kaufman, Hadassah presi-
dent.
Guest entertainer Marilyn
Krimm will sing a medley
from both past and present.
She is a teaching assistant
in voice at the University of
Michigan.
Mrs. Mark Saidman is
chapter program vice presi-
dent, and Mrs. Philip Sher-
man Is donor records chair-
man.

The 13th annual conference
of the Michigan Region of
Hadassah will take place
May 20-22 at the Kellogg
Center for Continuing Edu-
cation in East Lansing.
Mrs: Oscar Band, regional
president, and Mrs. Albert
Newman, conference chair-
man, announced the theme is
"The Future Is Now."
Workshops will be headed
by Mrs. E. Newton Rotten-
berg, Mrs. Donald Schiller
and Mrs. Rosemary Selburn.
Delegates will include Mrs.
Reuben Bienstock and Mrs.
Charles Snider, national
board members; Mrs. Eman-
uel Sarko, regional area vice
president; and Mrs. Jerome
Kaufman, Detroit chapter
president.
Conference adviser Dr.
Miriam K. Freund will speak
on "Israel's Role in World
,politics" at the banquet
Tuesday evening. A cantata,.
"The Ballad of Israel,"
honoring the state's 26th an-
niversary, will be performed,
and Hadassah Associates will
be honored.
Guests are welcome.
