Hebrew and Arabic Ulpan

JERUSALEM—Rashediyah

School is the scene of a rare
gathering on Monday and
Thursday afternoons as hun-
dreds of Jews and Arabs, in-
tellectuals, clerks, teachers,
nuns and foreign residents
gather for a language ex-
change.
Not only do the students
learn each other's language
— Hebrew or Arabic — but
they try to maintain an
understanding and friendship
with their fellow man. -
The Hebrew Arabic Ulpan
of the Hebrew University's
Martin Buber Center for
Adult Education held here
was begun 61/2 years ago by
Kalman Yaron, director of
the center.
He approached the mother
superior of the Sisters of Zion
