Sa- ble told the AJCongress in a letter reporting the results of his survey. Commissioner Sable was asked to investigate whether Aramco was in compliance with that order after a New York Times Magazine article in March said the oil con- glomerate employed "n o Jews in its New York and Washington offices." Sable said the company "strongly denies that it in any way discriminates against Jews in employ- ment." He added, however, that he was "concerned over the paucity of Jewish em- ployes in the company's do- mestic employ, as well as over the fact that the ones who are with Aramco in its headquarters operation do not occupy other than non- professional positions." Henry M. Jack- son (D. Wash.) said to 500 persons attending a Bnai Br it h Anti- Defamation League dinner honoring its associate director and gener- al counsel, Arnold Forster, on his 35th anniversary with ADL. Sen. Peace OTTAWA (JTA) — Leaders of Canada's three political parties stressed their nation's solidarity with Israel and ex- pressed the hope that peace would soon reign in the Mid- dle East. These views were ex- pressed at the third annual dinner meeting for 150 mem- bers of Parliament on the occasion of Israel's 26th an- niversary. The dinner was sponsored by the Canada- Israel committee. Robert Stanfield, president of the Progressive Conserva- tive Party, said that "the challenge to Israel's friends is to do what our decency requires — help Israel to reach peace." David Lewis, leader of the National Democratic Party, and member of Parliament, said he also was speaking "as the Jew David Lewis whose heart is full of anxiety in regard to the future of the state of Israel (which is) surrounded by enemy nations and threatened with annihila- tion. The problem of the Palestinians will not be solved by war or terrorism." Secretary of State for For- eign Affairs Mitchell Sharp, declared that Canada's "standing policy is the recog- nition of Israel's right to exist in a climate of peace under secure and recognized bor- ders." or Necklaces Heartshaperi Births tones • Diamond Monogram SPECIAL.. Jackson warned that the United States is in a position of dependence on foreign oil for as much as one-third of its oil needs and observed that "drifting into greater dependence on Arab oil could be disastrous."
