Robert C. White, a leading
athletic trainer in the United
States, has been named train-
er for the Detroit Loves pro-
fessional tennis team.
The Loves, Detroit's entry
in the newly formed World
Team Tennis League (WTT),
will begin play May 9 against
Toronto and continue through
August. They will play 22-
home matches at Cobo Arena
and 22 away matches against
the 16 other teams in the
league.
White, 48, has been trainer
for the athletic department of
Wayne State University as
well as associate professor of
health and physical educa-
tion. He has also been the
head trainer for the annual
NCAA Indoor Track Meets
for the past 10 years.
